WTF?
WHELPS LEFT SIDE, EVEN SIDE. MANY WHELPS. NOW. HANDLE IT.
FUUUUUCK.

1. Green Clouds = BAD.
Green clouds spawn Guardians of Yogg-Saron. They also spawn at an increasing rate on their own, and 8 total need to be killed next to Sara to trigger phase 2. We spawn 1 extra in the beginning–after that, no more.
If we must lose DPS or healing to move away from a cloud, then by all means, stay away from the cloud.
2. Dark Volley must be interrupted.
It’s a 1.5 second cast that deals ~10,000 damage to the entire raid. That itself isn’t a problem. The problem lies in that there is a 10-second debuff that reduces healing effects on the raid by 25%.
3. Be smart about killing Guardians.
Both the Guardians of Yogg-Saron and Sara cast Shadow Nova when they die. It causes 25,000 shadow damage to all targets within 15 yards.
- Only the tanks should be within 15 yards of them when they die.
- Don’t kill one right after another or a bunch at the same time.
- Stop DPSing them at 50%. If an officer forgets to call it out, don’t wait for the command. In the same vein, don’t kill them away from Sara.
4. Phase 2 on the outside…
4a.Crusher Tentacles need to die.
Diminish Power is a 1.5 second channel that reduces the raid’s damage by 20% and stacks up to 4 times. You must have one marked, and you must have all ranged DPS burning it. If healers can spare some mana, do it.
Crushers also get a stacking buff by being hit. It’s a 3% haste/3% damage boost that stacks 99 times. Stop hitting it for one second to let the buff fall off.
4b. Free people from Constrictor Tentacles.
Paladins can bubble out and bubble others out. If those are on cooldown, everyone should break the the poor soul free. At 7500 damage caused per second, it’s a huge drain on mana.
4c. Corruptor Tentacles need to be handled.
Typically, you have melee on them. Interrupt, lock, and kill them.
- Curse of Doom: inflicts 20,000 shadow damage after 12 seconds. Curse.
- Apathy: slows movement, casting, and attack speed by 60%. Magic effect.
- Black Plague: stuns the target every two seconds. Disease.
- Draining Poison: 3500 damage and 1400 mana drained every 3 seconds. Poison.
Have at least two people out who can dispel each effect, and stay together.
4d. Sara is still a bitch.
- Brain Link: move close to the person you’re linked to and stick to them like glue. Each second you’re too far away from them, you’ll both lose 3,000 health and 2% of your sanity.
- Psychosis: Sara’s spammable spell, kinda. It’s just 5000 damage and 12% sanity loss. Beg for a heal and run to a sanity well should you get too low.
- Death Ray: It’s a death ray. It’s huge and green. MOVE.
- Malady of the Mind: 4 second horror effect, inflicts 5000 damage, and drains 3% sanity. Will jump to another player within 10 yards. In other words: MOVE.
5. Phase 2 on the inside…
5a. It should last no more than 5 minutes.
60 seconds in, portals will open to the brain room. After the first portal phase ends, you have 20 seconds until the portals open again. Phase two should not last more than 5 minutes. 5 minutes is 3 brain portal phases to get Yogg down by 70%. You need to knock off 24% of his health each phase.
10 people can go in; assign 9 of your best DPS and one healer to go in.
5b. If you’re low on health, STOP HITTING IT.
Grim Reprisal, the buff on Influence Tentacles (the “NPCs” in Yogg’s visions) causes you to take 60% of the damage you cause to it. Wait for a heal, use a potion, healthstone, bandage, something.
5c. Look away from the laughing skulls.
If you see laughing skulls anywhere in the brain room, you know that Lunatic Gaze is being cast. It reduces your sanity by 2% every second in addition to causing 1750 shadow damage. Turning your back to the skull prevents this from happening.
5d. Get out early.
Deadly Boss Mods typically won’t call it out until you have 5 seconds left, but to be safe, run out earlier.
Once you’re out, stand in a Sanity Well and get ready to jump right back in.
6. Once again, look away.
Yogg-Saron will cast Lunatic Gaze every 12 seconds in phase 3. In the 4 seconds that it is cast, turn your back to Yogg-Saron. Looking at Yogg will cause you to lose ~6000 health and 4% sanity every second.
Note for the melee: if you actually touch Yogg, he’ll knock you back.
7. Kill the leftover adds.
The tentacles from phase 2 will still be up; you must have all Constrictor and Crushers killed, but 1 or 2 Corruptors won’t wipe a raid (as long as the debuffs they cast are cleansed).
8. Kill the new adds.
Immortal Guardians will spawn every 10-15 seconds in phase 3. They hit pretty hard when first spawned, thanks to a 9-stack buff they have that increases their power by 180% each stack. For every 10% health you knock off, they will lose a stack of their buff. You can only bring the Immortal Guardians to 1 health on your own. After that, drag them to Thorim, who will cast Titanic Storm, which will kill them.
When low on health, they cast Shadow Beacon on themselves. They must be killed within 10 seconds, or Yogg will cast and AoE heal on them. If this heal goes off, it will heal anything within 20 yards for 750,000 health over 20 seconds.
9. BURN HIM.
He has no aggro table, doesn’t melee, and his only ability now is Lunatic Gaze. He relies entirely now on the phase 2 adds and new phase 3 adds to do any real damage. If you did phases 1 and 2 correctly, you should have no less than 5 minutes for this phase.
